Deputy Minister Vahe Davtyan Received Ambassador of Japan to the RA

Vahe Davtyan, Deputy Minister of Environment of the RA, received H.E. Mr. Aoki Yutaka, Ambassador of Japan to the RA.
During the meeting, the Deputy Minister emphasized the trust demonstrated by the Government of Japan, the continuous professional support provided, and the cooperation based on mutual trust. He emphasized that the partnership between the two countries has a long-term vision and is aimed not only at effectively addressing existing challenges, but also at promoting systematic and sustainable development.
The Ambassador conveyed a message from the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Japan, expressing gratitude for the cooperation extended during the 20th Conference of the Parties to the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES COP20), which was held in Samarkand, Uzbekistan.
The meeting also addressed the draft government decision concerning the presidential decree approving the “Economic and Social Development” grant agreement between the Republic of Armenia and Japan. Under the agreement, the Government of the Republic of Armenia will receive a grant of 250 million Japanese yen (approximately USD 1.6 million) for the procurement of equipment for air quality monitoring stations for the “Hydrometeorology and Monitoring Center” SNCO.
Within the framework of the grant, it is planned to modernize three observation stations of the observation network with modern, automated measuring equipment manufactured by the Japanese company Horiba.
Summing up the meeting, Deputy Minister Vahe Davtyan emphasized that the partnership will continue to contribute to strengthening Armenia’s resilience and enhancing public safety through joint initiatives, modern technological solutions, and capacity-building efforts.
